Meet Simeon Joel - Head of Production
Sannu, I’m Simeon, and I come from the northern region of Nigeria, bringing with me almost a decade of shoemaking experience.
Simeon has always wanted to be a shoemaker, and his dream grew from making shoes beside the road in the city of Kaduna to earning a formal education and certificate in shoemaking from the prestigious Nigerian Institute of Leather and Science Technology (NILEST). To understand the Nigerian shoemaking market, Simeon also dedicated one year to informal shoemaking training (apprenticeship), where he learned about the gaps in the shoemaking sector that needed improvement and how to position himself to promote shoemaking in Nigeria and drive customer satisfaction.
When it comes to craft, Simeon is a talented artist who prioritizes functionality over form during the ideation and sketching of his shoe designs. He ensures that every design created at Lummfort provides comfort and not merely beauty. Simeon is a good addition to the team because he brings a can-do mentality and ensures that we prioritize your foot health right from the start of the production journey.
Meet Peace Adebola - Operations Manager
Ẹ ǹlẹ́ o, I’m Peace, and I come from the south-western region of Nigeria, bringing with me more than half a decade of experience in project management, branding, and marketing.
Peace is a visionary leader who is constantly seeking growth and improving her social and technical skills. She is one team member who is ready to step in and bring fresh insight and perspective to improve our processes and products. Peace trained and qualified as a physiotherapist after earning a degree from Obafemi Awolowo University; however, she found the business world more rewarding. Her venture into the corporate world started during COVID-19, when she became an independent contractor for several international news outlets focused on fashion and pop culture. Peace built her operations, marketing, and branding skills working in this capacity, and over the years she has built a large portfolio of experience, with certifications in project management, programming, design, leadership, business, and marketing, which she brings to Lummfort.
Through her drive and forward thinking, she is ensuring that Lummfort is well positioned and in compliance with both local and international labor and business laws regarding footwear production. We are happy to have Peace on board as she continues to put Lummfort on the world map.
Meet Taiwo Adesanmi - Quality Assurance Expert
Ndewo nu / Ẹ ǹlẹ́ o, I’m sure you are wondering why I use two different tribal greetings. That’s my superpower: I could pass for an Igbo or Yoruba man based on my looks. My official name is Taiwo, and I hail from the south-western region of Nigeria, but I have adopted Godwin as my Igbo name because I’m often addressed as one. So, in the spirit of One Nigeria, I answer to both tribal greetings.
Taiwo has always had a knack for business, dating back 17 years to when he started his first bike-rental business. Over the years, he transitioned into more structured businesses and ran a private home physiotherapy treatment business before leaving Nigeria in 2022 to pursue his master’s degree in the UK. Taiwo’s understanding of Nigeria’s business landscape has made him a big proponent of the principle that “customers should get value for products purchased or services rendered.”
Currently, Taiwo works as an industrial ergonomist and occupational health musculoskeletal physiotherapist in the UK. He assesses and treats various joint conditions and foot problems within his scope of practice. Taiwo leverages his clinical experience with foot problems and his understanding of foot anatomy, ergonomics, and design in his role as the quality assurance expert for Lummfort. He works with Simeon to ensure that our products meet the highest health and safety standards. With Taiwo’s experience, we promise that Lummfort’s products will be worth your money and will provide your feet with comfort.
